About Bobby

Bobby Deen has long been an essential ingredient in the recipe that has made his mother Paula Deen an American hospitality and cooking icon. The warmth, humanity and kindness that are so much a part of his mother Paula Deen’s persona are really family traits that were passed on to Bobby and his older brother Jamie. Today, Bobby’s show, “Not My Mama’s Meals,” airs on both the Food Network and the Cooking Channel. “Not My Mama’s Meals” brings some of his family’s favorite Southern recipes to the table with his healthier, lighter approach to cooking. It premiered in early 2012 and is now referred to as the number one show on The Cooking Channel.

Bobby, along with his brother Jamie and their mom, founded a small Savannah, Georgia catering business known for delivering “lunch-and-love-in-a-bag” which grew into one of Savannah’s most-loved restaurants The Lady & Sons. Bobby handled front-of-house duties in the restaurant, leaving his mom free to craft recipes that gave The Lady and Sons its first national exposure and led the Deen family toward becoming one of the most recognized and beloved families in America.

With The Lady and Sons firmly established, Bobby and Jamie began appearing to rave reviews on their mother’s cooking shows on the Food Network, and soon launched their own show on the network, “Road Tasted,” which followed Bobby and Jamie as they explored America in search of love and warmth-infused cooking. Both Bobby and Jamie Deen began to draw a new, younger audience to the growing number of Deen Family fans in America.

To date, Bobby and Jamie have published four books, “The Deen Bros. Cookbook-Recipes From the Road” released in 2007, “Y’all Come Eat” in 2008, “Take It Easy” in 2009 and “Get Fired Up” in 2011. They published four stand-alone magazines in 2010 and Bobby will launch his own cookbook based on his hit Food Network/Cooking Channel show “Not My Mama’s Meals”. They’ve expanded their efforts with a line of spices, BBQ sauces and t-shirts, all sold at the Paula Deen store.

Bobby lives in Savannah, Georgia, and is an avid supporter of his neighboring college team, the Georgia Bulldogs.
